The word ‘findings’ has multiple meanings. It is commonly used
to describe the outcome of research, investigation or a discovery
however it also refers to the small tools and various materials
used by an artisan: a jeweler’s findings.
In this workshop students were invited to explore the language of jewellery with an open mind and an adventurous attitude through a number of assignments.
We used Buenos Aires as a site to conduct field work, mining it for material by searching, collecting and documenting. The findings that result from this field work serve as a starting point for the student’s individual or collaborative investigation and translation of the language of jewelry.
